Lava Shell Massage
November 2, 2009
by Lauren Leistner LMT
I have been practicing Lava Shell Massage for a year now. What I love about the Tiger Striped Clam shells used with this massage, is the fact that they are all natural and biodegradable and no electrical device is needed to heat them.
Tiger stripped clam shells come from the South Pacific Ocean and are harvested by the Philippine’s, as a source of food. After the oyster has been removed, these beautiful clam shells are recycled and used as an all natural massage tool. The Shells generate and retain heat through contact with gels that are derived from sea kelp, Dead Sea salts and self heating natural minerals.
Heat is physiologically beneficial and soothing, putting the body in a relaxed state. Heat is also a natural way to relieve muscle aches by dilating the blood vessels, increasing the flow of oxygen and healing nutrients and removing the waste products created by muscle spasms. The increased circulation speeds repair of an injury with tender muscles and tissue.
“I see the results in my clients after I work on them, it’s phenomenal. I like that I can share this tool with my clients for no extra charge. Lava shells are inexpensive, beneficial and are recycled.”
Treat yourself to a whole new warm experience this winter.
