Brugh Joy Memorial Celebration at Harmony Farm

On Sunday, May 23, in the hot afternoon sun at the labyrinth, Harmony Farm opened the land to a celebration of the life of Dr. Brugh Joy who frequented the Farm over the years and was a beloved Teacher and friend to many. He passed on December 23 of 2009. The Spring celebration was one of many gatherings to honor the joy and wisdom of a man dedicated to Love and Service and known for his humor and compassionate heart. Through music, poetry, art, story, and meditation those gathered remembered the over 70 years he lived in touch with body, soul, dreams, and a vital love of earth and skies. A “Radiance of Love” was his signature in life and he said often, “The True Face lies in the spontaneous life, not with the compensatory or defended life.” He taught us that well. The light dinner at the house after the celebration allowed for long remembering with more stories, sharing of pictures, and greeting long cherished friends.
